In all my dark and silent days, You were the warmth of distant gleam; A single spark, a sudden blaze, That haunted every dream. Now, I know not what love may mean, But when your thought begins to burn, A tear escapes—soft, unseen, And memories gently turn. Perhaps this ache has no known name, But if it must be love, so be— Then know I love you still the same, Though you are not with me.
