I once beheld you—just for a moment,Perhaps beneath a sky that whispered low,
Where light and dusk in silence met,
And time moved gently, as if in flow.
I searched again those eyes so deep,
But fate had closed the fleeting gate;
You vanished into twilight’s sleep—
Too far, too soon, too late.
In all my dark and silent days,
You were the warmth of distant gleam;
A single spark, a sudden blaze,
That haunted every dream.
Now, I know not what love may mean,
But when your thought begins to burn,
A tear escapes—soft, unseen,
And memories gently turn.
Perhaps this ache has no known name,
But if it must be love, so be—
Then know I love you still the same,
Though you are not with me.
I hold no claim to hold you near,
No vows, no bond, no fate I mold—
Yet in your memory, crystal-clear,
My heart still learns to hold.
If ever heaven grants one grace,
Beyond the bounds of mortal air,
I’d walk once more to see your face—
And find my solace there.
